Personal Statement

My name is Peyten Green, and I am a junior at Iowa State University majoring in apparel merchandising and design, following the creative and tech design track. To further my education, I am currently studying abroad at the London College of Fashion during my fall 2024 semester. Since I was little, I've always expressed myself through fashion, whether it was the outfit I was wearing or design illustrations that covered every piece of paper I could get my hands on. This love for fashion was passed on to me by my two grandmas, who exposed me to different designers and opened me up to the idea of sewing. I decided to take this passion for design and pursue a career in it. At my current stage of education, I am working on mastering my sewing skills and learning the different entities that go into the fashion business. My goal for the future is to continue to explore my creativity and see how it manifests itself through my continual love for fashion. I am excited and hopeful for the future and can't wait to apply what I've learned at Iowa State and LCF to my future endeavors.
